Description

DESCRIPTION: SUPER X-Deck is a high-performance, ready-to-use elastomeric coating specially formulated for above-ground masonry surfaces that require long-lasting, superior elongation. This elastomeric coating bridges cracks and conceals surface imperfections. The high-build acrylic formula repels water while allowing moisture vapor to escape easily. Super X-Deck used for Porch, Floor, and Patio provides durable, long-lasting protection for floors. Its premium acrylic latex formula is ideal for both interior and exterior applications where quick drying is essential.

USES: Ideal for garages, carports, driveways, basements, porches, patios, walkways, and pool decks. Suitable for exterior masonry projects such as high- rise apartments, condominiums, warehouses, hospitals, schools, hotels, as well as commercial and residential buildings.

SURFACE PREPARATION: The surfaces to be coated must be dry, clean, structurally sound, and free from debris and contaminants, including loose or peeling paint, dirt, grease, oil, wax, concrete curing agents, bond breakers, chalk, efflorescence, mildew, rust, product residues, and dust.

Remove loose paint, chalk, and efflorescence using wire brushing, scraping, sanding, or pressure washing. Fill nail holes with putty and caulk any cracks or open seams. Sand glossy, rough, or patched areas, and feather rough edges to a smooth transition by sanding. Apply a suitable primer to all bare and porous surfaces.

Clean surfaces according to ASTM Standard Practice D4258-83: Standard Practice for Surface Cleaning Concrete for Coating. Acceptable cleaning methods include vacuum cleaning, water cleaning, detergent water washing, power washing, steam cleaning, and manual or mechanical cleaning tools.

If traditional removal methods are not effective, remove efflorescence by pressure washing or using a dilute muriatic acid solution (as per manufacturer’s instructions) or a mixture of 1 part white vinegar to 4 parts water. Rinse thoroughly and allow the surface to dry completely. For mildew removal, apply a mildew multi- purpose wash (18-1) or a solution of 1 part chlorine bleach to 3 parts water. Always read and follow label instructions and warnings before use. Ensure the substrate dries to a moisture content below 8%.

BRICK, CONCRETE, STUCCO, TILT-UP/PRE-CAST CONCRETE & MASONRY: Allow new brick and mortar to cure for a minimum of 30-60 days, ideally 90 days, before applying primer and paint. Ensure the substrate’s pH is below 10 before priming. It is advised to use an alkali-resistant primer. Painting glazed brick is not recommended due to potential adhesion issues.

FIBER CEMENT SIDING: New siding should be allowed to age for 30-60 days before priming and painting. Ensure the substrate has a pH below 10 and a moisture content under 8% before applying primer and topcoat. Caulk all cracks and open seams to prevent water infiltration.

APPLICATION: Stir or shake thoroughly before applications. Read all label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information prior to use. SDS are available through our web site or by calling 1-520-293-7000.

Application Equipment: Apply by airless spray, roller or brush. Apply by brush to small areas only. If spray applied, product must be back-rolled. When applying by roller, the final passes should be completed in a downward direction to ensure a uniform appearance.

Airless Spray: Minimum requirements: Pressure 2000 – 2800 psi, tip 0.019” – 0.027”, flow rate 1.5 gal/minute. Spray equipment must be handled with due care and in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations. High pressure injection of coatings into the skin by airless equipment may cause serious injury.

Brush: Polyester/Nylon Brush

Roller: 3/4” – 1” nap synthetic roller cove

Thinning: Not recommended
