Description

DESCRIPTION: Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant is a high performance one-part, moisture curing, and room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) 100% silicone flashing sealant combined with reinforcing materials to provide strong seal-ability around roof fasteners, transitions and penetrations.

Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant has ultra-high strength and remains very durable. It will maintain its integrity on fasteners and penetrations with movement.

Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant exhibits excellent unprimed adhesion to concrete, metals and most other roofing substrates, provided they are clean, dry and free of dust and frost.

Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant is unaffected by sunlight (ultra-violt rays), ozone, temperature extremes, rain and snow. It has a long service life, and it was designed to perform between -60°C to 200°C (-76°F to 392°F).

TYPICAL USES:

  • Repair material for metal and SPF roofs
  • Seal fasteners, seams and details on low and semi-steep sloped roofs
  • Pipe penetrations through roof decks in metal flashings
  • Concrete, metal and most construction substrates
  • Mold and mildew resistance

SURFACE PREPARATION: All penetrations must be clean, dry and free of contaminants before Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant is applied. Dust and loose particles must be blown out of the joint with oil-free compressed air, moving only in one direction. An oily surface may reduce adhesion.

APPLICATION: Always test adhesion before applying to different substrates.

Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant is ready-to-use and requires no mixing or additives. Apply Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant to roofing substrate, fastener or penetration using appropriate caulking gun, brush, trowel, joint knife or plastic spatula to achieve a uniform membrane over the transition surfaces. Top coat with Product No. 990 Forever-Coat Silicone Roof coating when dry to touch.

Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant can be applied in a single coat. Spread uncured Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant to extend a minimum of 4” (100 mm) over the surface of the roof. Regularly monitor wet film thickness during application to ensure adequate uniform coverage. Coverage may vary depending on application technique and nature of substrate. Curing begins as soon as the sealant comes in contact with air. Application at temperatures below 4°C (40°F) will slow curing, while increased levels of humidity will aid curing. Tooling should be done before skin-over takes place. Remove wet material from application/spreading tool with a rag before the material cures. Carefully use appropriate cleaning agent, such as citrus solvent or odorless mineral spirits, to remove cured material from tools. For best results, follow precautions on packaging.

STORAGE: Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant, when stored in original, unopened container in dry, shaded conditions, away from sources of heat or ignition, and stored below 32°C (90°F), has a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture.

Packaging: Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant is available in 18.9L (5 US gallon) pails.

COLORS Product No. 910-Flashing Sealant is available in White.
